I recenlty upgraded cygwin and since then the bash fc command gets a stream
of
errors starting with:

Error detected while processing /cygdrive/d/Work/_vimrc:

line 3:
Trailing characters: showmatch^M
line 4:
Trailing characters: expandtab^M
