Hmm, sounds suspect.

Ah. It's strange that the usage is jumping, as the MD5 sums are only
calculated for files that have an MD5 sum in setup.ini/

Yes, can you build setup from the -src tarball, and run it under gdb? If
it crashes then, you can type\

'bt full'
and send me or the list the output.
