1) BEHAVIOUR -------------

Description:

(a) Telnet session from system A to cygwin system B
(b) Type telnet escape char and quit, or kill telnet
(c) Another telnet session from system A to cygwin system B
(d) On system B telnetd of step (a) is gone, user shell (a) is running

Process list on system B after (a):

(b)       Type CRTL-Z -> nothing happened (i know).
(c)       Type CTRL-C -> ping is still running.             <--- ???

Help me to understand  1) and 2) ???
