I sent this message to the lyx list a while ago and have gotten nowhere yet.

I am using Cygwin-1.3.10 with the following tools:

    gcc version 2.95.3-5 (cygwin special)
    GNU ld version 2.11.92 20011001

The symptoms are as follows. What can I do to get around this?
