The cron is very picky, I fought with it 4 months with very odd error messages until I got it right. Try this [do not change a thing!] cygrunsrv --stop "Cygwin cron" && cygrunsrv --remove "Cygwin cron" cygrunsrv -I "Cygwin cron" -p /usr/sbin/cron -a '-D' -e "CYGWIN=ntsec" cygrunsrv --start "Cygwin cron" I don't use NTFS in W2k Pro, but I still put the CYGWIN=ntsec Maybe someone can comment if there would be more appropriate value.
