bash-2.05a$ perl -v
This is perl, v5.6.1 built for cygwin-multi
from setup.log.full
[prev] ver=5.6.1-1
inst=contrib/perl/perl-5.6.1-1.tar.gz 5893455 exists=yes
src=contrib/perl/perl-5.6.1-1-src.tar.gz 6305513 exists=yes
[curr] ver=5.6.1-2
inst=contrib/perl/perl-5.6.1-2.tar.bz2 6519925 exists=yes
src=contrib/perl/perl-5.6.1-2-src.tar.bz2 5373358 exists=yes

I'm not a specialist on Windowz nor on Cigwin but aren't some libraries
different? I suspect that perl-interpreter/modules built on NT/W2K doesn't
always work correctly on W98. If this is true do I need to re-build perl? I
did this years ago under B20(?), it was pain but I was able to install LWP
afterwards.
Finally (may be) not related to LWP installation problem but is this
supposed to work this way?
bash-2.05a$ export PS1='\w$ '
~$ whoami
arkadig
~$ pwd
/cygdrive/c
~$ cd
~$ pwd
/cygdrive/c
~$ cd ~arkadig
/home/arkadig$ pwd
/home/arkadig
/home/arkadig$
Thx,
Arkadi
