I just today (11/16/2001) upgraded my bash to whatever the current version is. Now the '\w $' prompt is showing stuff like: programs/wget/./wget-1.7/.. The same prompt string display just fine on RH 7.2. Can someone tell me what's going on? Why is the garbage in the $PWD variable? Ed Bradford PS bash --version shows: GNU bash, version 2.05a.0(1)-release (i686-pc-cygwin) Copyright 2001 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
