You don't have to worry about it. Since the rule is to discuss this kind of thing on the mailing list, you just post a query to the mailing list. The alternative is for 27 people to send email to a maintainer asking when the next version was coming out, as opposed to 26 sending the email to the list with one person realizing that the question had already been asked.
