Hi, re the thread associated with http://sources.redhat.com/ml/cygwin/2001-11/msg00127.html Using setup from HEAD cvs version 128 - I have (had) the same problem, after mirror it stalls at connecting ... to try and get the setup.ini - windows task manager shows setup grabbing memory by the bucketfull. I am using win2k with IE6 and direct connection. My computer is behind a win2k 'Ineternet connection sharing' setup, but this is the first time I have had this problem... Recompiling from cvs again to see if its fixed... and it appears it is... - information provided anyway just incase its not really fixed ... cvs HEAD 129 works - I also recompiled the rest of cygwin though ... if setup depends on anything in particular from that... first couple of times with 129 I got a message saying that it could not download setup.ini from planetmiror... - wondering if possibly the problem happens when the mirror refuses connection or similar, but the program is not catching this properly and repeatedly trying (something)? setup.log is looking normal - excerpt for the approrpriate installation 2001/11/06 20:54:27 Starting cygwin install, version 2.128 Current Directory: C:\bin 2001/11/06 20:54:27 Command line parameters 2001/11/06 20:54:27 0 - 'C:\bin\setup.exe' 2001/11/06 20:54:27 1 parameters passed source: network install mbox yesno: Warning: we recommend you do NOT use the root of your hard drive as the cygwin root. Proceed anyway? root: C:/ binary system Selected local directory: C:\cygtmp net: Direct site: ftp://planetmirror.com/pub/sourceware/cygwin 2001/11/06 20:57:55 Ending cygwin install - I clicked the cancel button and waited while memory got cleaned up ... for this case. setup.log.full - is huge 44megs ... as above till net: Direct - then get_url_to_string http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/mirrors.lst site: ftp://planetmirror.com/pub/sourceware/cygwin get_url_to_string ftp://planetmirror.com/pub/sourceware/cygwin/setup.ini ftp > x ftp > x ftp > x repeat the ftp line semi-ad-infinitum.
