Far be it from me to complain when somebody submits patches!  I wasn't 
really being critical -- I was honestly asking questions.  It's possible 
the stream-based thing/file-extension thing has been abandoned, I dunno. 
That's why I asked.

However, farther down the list, I see that Robert has commented on the 
stream thing...
