Sorry, that's off-topic for the Cygwin list.

There is an abundance of help for that sort of thing elsewhere.  Go
look.

That said, once you learn, and scripts don't behave the way you expect
them to, there is an entry "Why don't my shell scripts work?" in the FAQ.
