Dear all,
Using inetutils-1.3.2 with the latest Cygwin dll 1.3.3 on Windows NT 4.0 I
encounter the following problem:
I cannot access my network drives via rsh or rlogin.
During an exhaustive search thru the mail archives I learnt the following:
1)
It is not a good idea to run the daemon as SYSTEM, I changed that to a local
user with the additional user rights outlined in the inetutils readme ("Act
as part of the OS, ...")
2)
I tried CYGWIN set to "nosmbntsec"
Executing ls /cygdrive/I: works, rsh localhost -l username "ls /cygdrive/I:"
does not do anything with I: being a network drive (samba NTFS).
I would really appreciate a hint here. Furthermore, after changing the
CYGWIN variable, is it sufficient to restart the inetd to make those changes
active?
Thank you,
Holger
