with vi on the new cygwin, when editing on a drive with the flags set for "microsoft text" ie: cr/lf as EOL can vi be set to not display or modify the ^M at the end of line? It seems to display it either way the drive is flagged. A flag in .exrc or somewhere would be fine too.
