Another way to look at this is that you are a knowledgeable guy.

You are having problems.

If you are having problems doing things in what should be a simple prescribed
way then there is probably something wrong that needs fixing.

However, please don't take this as a criticism.  I know that you are busy
and you are a MAJOR contributor to the project.

It is just perplexing to see so many other people treat issues like this
as if it was a closed-source Microsoft-like project where the only venue
for getting questions answered is via "technical support" rather than
"technical discovery".
