Hi! I am new to cygwin but cannot find answers to my question anywhere:

$ automake makefile
automake: configure.in: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE' must be used

$ autoconf
configure.in:5: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE

How do I resolve this?
