Hello. When I use rm to remove files under Cygwin, it's
creating a hidden folder in the file's directory called
"deleted" (without the quotes of course). This folder
contains a file called "index", and one or more files
named "deleted.001", "deleted.002", etc.
I can remove the hidden directory from DOS (using rmdir);
I can remove the hidden directory from Windows Explorer.
Having these folders hanging around is annoying,
especially because rm -rf doesn't get rid of directories!
Does anyone know why this is happening to me? I've been
using Cygwin for years...this only started happening in
the last couple weeks -- the only thing I can think of
is that I changed some of my NTFS permissions around
when I locked down my workstation...however, seeing as
I can remove the files easily from DOS and Explorer,
I'm stumped...
Any info is appreciated.
