Thank you,

I found the explantion for the strip problem.

For the 'cp -f' problem I could not find an explanation.
May be the discussion on "Autoconf" was to much in
detail for an cygwin beginner like me.
As I understood it, there was/is a problem with utime
in relation with file access rights.
I don't see how this is related to the simple cp statement
with no access conflicts.

Thomas

Try using google and searching the archives for .exe and related
commands you have problems with- the .exe thing
has been discussed a whole lot on this list. It might
even be in the documentation or FAQ-

It is me, again - I am missing a bit of concentration.
Some more remarks/results at the bottom.

After removing the f flag, the files were copied correctly.

But now the problems with the exe extensions moves on to the next
command "strip", which complains about not finding the appropriate files.
At moment I will change the makefile and hope someone has the knowledge
and time to work on the extension thing.

Good luck.
