Subject: BUG Report: (was: Understanding Cygwin /etc/passwd and /etc/group on W98)

MIME-Version: 1.0

 This is /etc/group, on a freshly setup cygwin on W98SE:
 Max::500:544::/home/Max:/bin/bash

 And there is NO /etc/passwd at all!

 The problem seems to be that the postinstall script is being run by
 command.com, which completely fails to understand the unix-ish line breaks.
 Presumably NT cmd.exe does, so I guess the problem might not show up there.

 Max.
