I can't speak for you David,
but I remember that I was
using netscape for my mail,
and there were messages from a
specific person that requested a
return reciept- when I asked
the person about it, they told
me that they weren't requesting
return receipts, something was
just funky between their mailer and mine.

Now that I am using outlook, I don't get
any requests for a return receipt. Not that
I recommend using outlook.... but IIRC
there are options to some mailers that
let you specify the default behaviour
for return receipts and popups, and
maybe even use rules like
"if sender is xxx, do not popup or send return receipt."

I haven't got any requests for return receipts
in the past couple weeks, and I have looked at every message
on the list- and I know that outlook's "popup an irritating
window when the sender requests a return reciept"
function is ON, because my boss sometimes requests
them.

HTH,
Peter

May I humbly request that folks posting to the list DO NO request return
receipts?

It's only a minor pita for those of us who have to reply to a dialog
triggered by your request; imagine what a MAJOR pita it would be for you if
we all sent you one.
