Folks,

First off, I want to thank all of you for all the comments and
insight, it's clear that all of you have very good points to consider
regarding a Tcl/Tk GUI installer using cygwin1.dll. Another thing
that's become clear to me is that my original design is lacking, and
must be reworked to accommodate as many of the excellent points all of
you have brought up.

Therefore, I'm going to review all the messages in this thread so that
every point brought up is considered, and incorporate these points in
a new design. Once this redesign is complete (which hopefully should
only take a few days), I will post again to the mailing list,
hopefully to begin a second round of design review. I expect the
resulting design will stand a better chance of actually working.

Again, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who took the time
to critique the design; I'm sure all of you, like myself, have regular
full-time jobs that must be attended to, making it difficult to find
time to spend on Cygwin. I appreciate your efforts.
