If you're trying to do internet connection sharing (without worrying about security issues) then windows98+(NT?W2K?) have tools built in -- and speed would SUCK if you had to plunk through TWO separate IP stacks, each followed its own separate layer of cygwin unix-ization. Blech. AAANNNNDDDD....those little DSL/cable firewall/dhcp/nat boxes work really well, and cost very little, and use far less electricity than a whole windows/cygwin system (important when it needs to be on 24/7).
