Subject: CygX observations

I was fooling around and messed up my vi so that when
I vi a file in an x window, it presents the text in an imaginary
window that is smaller. However, if I resize by mouse, it
adopts the full window size when I start the vi session. I am
not cerrtain this is vi related.

Looking at the bash window I see scrolled of the screen,
the following error
winShadowUpdateDDNL () - IDirectDrawSurface4_Blt () failed: 887601ae

I do not have the sources. X is launched from cygwin. rxvt is used rather
than xterm (scroll bar advantage).

I get done what I want to do, so have I am content to live with this; however,
thought it may shed light on the discussions of the day.
