I just realized I didn't word that well.  It seems to me that the only 
security problems with inetd besides running insecure services that would 
be insecure anyway would be if your environment already allows users to run 
arbitrary programs on your system so that they could run services that open 
holes.

Unless I misunderstand, inetd only leaves you open to being hacked from the 
outside if you also run insecure services.  The only other security
problems would be those that arise from allowing users to run arbitrary
programs on the computer running inetd, right?

having determined that inetd leaves one wide open to being hacked, how does 
one install sfptd on a Win2K box, "srvany.exe" is not found when I do a
search?
