A solution to this problem was posted in the FAQ. The solution was rather long, and used the .emacs file. I wasn't able to quickly reproduce that solution, or even research the syntas of the commands. I couldn't find any information on the setq command. The correct directory for the .emacs command, is not obvious. Well anyway there is a simple oneline solution. export SHELL=bash place this in the .bash_rc file in the /, directory, and it will be automatic.
