From memory: /etc/setup/installed.db is the name of the file that records what's installed. mv that file out of the way while you do your setup selection process. Alternatively you can click on "Full/Part" and choose full. With recent setup verions there's an option "Re-Download" that should do what you want. If the current CVS setup doesn't do what you are looking for, feel free to jump in a tweak it.
