I couldn't find this in the archives, so I thought I'd report it.  I know
this is complicated code and I'm not entirely sure it should do the obvious
thing (i.e. cd .. should change to the root), but I thought I'd bring it up.

$ cd /cygdrive/d
$ pwd
/cygdrive/d
$ cd ..
bash: cd: ..: No such file or directory
