Hmm. I used Sergey's port "back in the day".  I also now use Corinna's
OpenSSH port.  Neither exhibited the problem you report.

Sounds like the common culprit is your cygwin installation (or
ssh{d}_config setup), causing problems somehow with BOTH versions of
ssh.
