OK but then again, what emulation platform do you know of that's as 
fast as the native environment?  Personally, I find Cygwin's environment
to be noticeably than Linux (or any UNIX platform) but still quite 
adequate.  If you don't perhaps you have a variations in your Windows
environment that's slowing things down for you.
