Hi there,

This question was asked before (I saw it in an archive), but I've had some trouble trying to configure and install pdksh on my installation of Cygwin. The configure command works fine, But 'make check' and 'make install' both fall over.

the output from 'make check' is:

"./tests/th-sh ./tests/th -s ./tests -p ./ksh -C pdksh,sh,ksh,posix,posix-upu
syntax error at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/cygwin/_h2ph_pre.ph line 22, near "sub__declspec(x)("
Compilation failed in require at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/cygwin/signal.ph line 1.
Compilation failed in require at ./tests/th line 133.
maKE: *** [check] Error 255"

I had a look at the h2ph program but it just seems to convert include files into perl files.

The output from 'make install' is:

"./mkinstalldirs /usr/local/bin /usr/local/man/man1
/usr/bin/install -c ksh /usr/local/bin/`echo ksh|sed 's,x,x,'`
/usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ksh.1 /usr/local/man/man1/`echo ksh|sed 's,x,x,'`.1
make: [install] Error 1 (ignored)"

Am I missing some files, or is there something I've not done? Again, sorry if I've just rehashed an old question, the solution mentioned in that thread (several years old now) was to install coolview, but doing that prevented Cygwin from running altogether, so I hope someone can help with a working solution. Thanks for the help.

      Ammar Hassan
