You mounted wrong...

My cygcheck -s includes this:
=============================
H:\bin  /usr/bin  system  binmode
H:\lib  /usr/lib  system  binmode
H:    /        system  binmode
c:    /cygdrive/c  user    binmode,noumount
d:    /cygdrive/d  user    binmode,noumount
e:    /cygdrive/e  user    binmode,noumount
i:    /cygdrive/i  user    binmode,noumount

yours:
======
C:\CygWin\bin  /usr/bin  system  binmode
C:\CygWin\lib  /usr/lib  system  binmode
C:\CygWin  /        system  binmode
c:    c        user    textmode
d:    d        user    textmode
f:    f        user    textmode
