Whenever I login through telnet (using Windows2000's telnet service)
as Administrator (everyone else works fine), I get this when trying
to start cygwin:
D:\>\cygwin\cygwin.bat
136115 [main] bash 1272 stdio_init: couldn't make stderr distinct
from stdout
bash.exe: warning: could not find /tmp, please create!
bash-2.05$ pwd
/usr/bin
bash-2.05$
/etc/passwd is correct, because I experience no problems using cygwin
locally.
And also, when using sshd, I can't authenticate in any way. I have
PasswordAuth set to 'yes' and RSAAuth set to 'no'. Something was
mentioned earlier about /etc/passwd being case sensitive, so I copied
all the user lines and changed the caps to lower (ie, 'Dale' to
'dale'), but the same problem occurs. Also something was mentioned
about sshd running as 'part of the operating system'. I added the
user that starts sshd to every group I've got, but the same thing
happens.
Beats me...
