Subject: | cygwin: is it cygwin.dll, the files in cygwin/bin, or both? |

I am curious.... I gather that cygwin.dll is a dll that supplies the unix api's we love to Windows. I see that cygwin comes with locate, so I am going to try to set that up. Of course, much of the value of locate comes with the db that gets updated "frequently". And yet, near as I can tell, there is no cron distributed with cygwin. So wow come there is no cron utility supported with cygwin? Does that indicate something about what the cygwin project is that I don't quite understand? Or are there simpler reasons?
