I am looking for help in understanding and makeing makefiles.  I know 
that at www.gnu.org you can get an online version of the gnu make book, 
but I am just a student taking his sophomore CS classes - it is over my 
head way too much.  I am looking for something a little more basic.  Can 
anybody help?
