Hi,
I'm having difficulties getting latex with friends to run. I've installed
the tetex-package via setup.exe, and downloaded TDS from
ftp://ftp.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/systems/unix/teTeX/1.0/distrib/sources/teTeX-texmf-1.0.2.tar.gz
and unpacked it into /usr/share/texmf.
So, following the instructions in
/usr/doc/Cygwin/tetex-beta-20001218.README
I did:
$ texconfig confall
Error: file texmf.cnf not found in ``//share/texmf/web2c''.
TEXMFMAIN ``//share/texmf'' seems to have the wrong value from a texmf.cnf file.
$
Hm. texmf.cnf contains several references to $SELFAUTOPARENT, but I can't
figure out how to set that correctly.
By using the *.cnf.frozen files instead of the *.cnf ones, I managed to get
as far as running "texconfig confall; texconfig rehash; texconfig init":

Any clues? Am I using the incorrect TDS? If so, where can I find the
correct one?
