there is a bug in the specs file of gcc 2.95.3-2 ...
near the end of the *cpp section ....
%{mwin32|no-cygwin:-DWIN32 -D_WIN32 -D__WIN32 -D__WIN32__ -DWINNT}
%{!mno-win32:-idirafter /usr/include/w32api}
should have been
%{mwin32|mno-cygwin ......
missing an m makes compiling with -mno-cygwin having bad defined symbols
....
