Thanks to Jason Tishler, I was able to the postgres initdb script to run. What I am running into now is the following error message. $ postmaster -D /usr/local/pgsql/data C:\cygwin\bin\postgres.exe: *** recreate_mmaps_after_fork_failed postmaster: Startup proc 1116 exited with status 256 - abort The ipc-daemon was running at the time of this command. I am running cygwin under Win2K professional. As far as I can tell I have the most current version of cygwin1.dll? What should I do now to further try to get this to work? Thanks for your time. :-) -- Want to unsubscribe from this list? Check out: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
