I tried a lot of mirror sites; freesoftware.com was successful in
downloading, but I could not find any Cygwin bash shell !! I guess the
download was not complete after all, though it said at the end "Download
successful".
After trying quite a number of times, I've ended up trying just copying the
"cygwin" root(ie c:\cygwin), "latest" & "contrib" directories, directly from
one NT box to another (I'm using SYmantec pcAnywhere!). DO you think this
would help? Please let me know any other files/dirs to be copied over..

Did that to me also on the first install.  I just ran setup again, pointed
to a different mirror, and that time setup just downloaded what had been
missed on the first try.
