We have a major snow storm here right now and it's knocked out the phones.
The infuriating thing about this is that the phone company refuses to even
do me the courtesy of providing me with a dialtone to report the problem.
I know that my car is out of gas, so I decided this would be a good time
to get some gas since the phone company wouldn't help me. The Detroit automakers
strike again, though! The car just sits there. For a while the starter worked
but then even that stopped.
My neighbor came over with a can of gasoline (do I have to rely on neighbors to
fuel my car now???) but even after he put the gasoline in the car, there were
*still* problems. I know that I now need a new battery but how am I supposed
to *buy* a battery if I can't get to the store because the car won't start?
They really have you coming and going.
I have to stop typing now. My carpal tunnel is acting up. I was going to send
my doctor some email about this but
