Figured it out myself (I did what I said below with the registry keys). I guess it needs the mount points. >I originally installed cygwin under a regular user account (call it >"user1") on a computer running Win2k. I selected the option for >"this user only". > >I'd like for certain other user accounts (but not all) and the >administrator account to be able to use it. I tried just launching >cygwin.bat from the administrator account, but that doesn't work >right -- I get a bash prompt, but it doesn't work -- not even an ls. > >I tried running setup as administrator, again selecting "only this >user", and "local install", but the installer said there was nothing >to install. And cygwin.bat still didn't work. > >I'm guessing that I need registry keys for the users that are to run >it. Would exporting the registry keys HKCU/software/cygnus (or >something like that) from the user1 account, then adding them to the >other user accounts work? > >-- >-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= >Robert Jacobson teridon AT erols DOT com >BS, Aeronautical Engineering Univ. of Md., College Park >Flight Ops.
