Ok.  Hmm...  I've seen this behavior before.  What happens is that both
LaTeX and vim have control of the console fd's.  You may have to debug
this yourself.  First try a the most recent snapshot from
http://cygwin.com/snaphots/ to see if the problem may be fixed already.
