You could add the following entries to your .inputrc:

"\e[2~": paste-from-clipboard
"\e[3~": delete-char

As a bonus, it binds the insert key to something useful.

(I'd be happy to submit a FAQ patch for this.  I could modify the one
I submitted last week. :)
