Yes, the cygwin ssh client does support X11 forwarding.
Having said that, I have one caveat. I had a problem using
the 2.03p1 client with my Netgear RT311 / Linux box combination
at home. The 2.03p1 client would not connect. So, I tried the
20001221 version, and it works fine. I haven't tried the 2.03p2
client (Don't fix it if it isn't broke). I can ssh to home, and start
up an xterm on my machine at work, using Hummingbird's Exceed.
(I've tried the xfree stuff, and it's still too crude for my taste. If
I ever get some time, I might try to work on some things for it).
One thing I had to do to my machine at home was change my
.bash_profile. I changed the following 2 lines:
export DISPLAY=${DISPLAY:=192.168.0.5:0.0}
export XAUTHORITY=${XAUTHORITY:=~root/.Xauthority}
I had to do this because I would su to this account sometimes,
and then the X stuff wouldn't work locally. But otherwise, the X
forwarding stuff should work fine.
