Hi, With a new laptop, I had little choice of OS: WinME was it, no Win2K (for reliability) Win98 were not options. (RedHat 7 too, but that's a different story!) www.cygwin.com doesn't mention Windows ME ... is there a reason for that? I just downloaded most of the latest. When I use the BASH shell I get my suspicions: $ vi C:\CYGWIN\BIN\VI.EXE: *** 2. unable to allocate heap, heap_chunk_size 1073741824, Win32 error 8 $ Now, why is it trying to allocate a gig of heap space? This is vim-5.7-4 according to the downloaded filename. - Jojo p.s. please CC me directly, not on the list. -- Want to unsubscribe from this list? Check out: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
