Did you strace the server and/or client on Cygwin? I wonder what's
going on there. If this would be a 100% reproducable problem in
Cygwin, all my ssh connections all day would fail, so...

A little bit of debugging would be gladly appreciated.

However, could you please provide the sources of two testapps (server,
client) which reproducable show the problem on your box?
