No, it's a combination of two conventions - GNU source tarballs always
unpack into ./package-version/*, and setup always unpacks tarballs in /

I don't mind if setup "knows" that source tarballs get unpacked into
/usr/src, but I'd rather not mess with the contents-of-srcball
convention, since keeping it often mean we can use the GNU srcballs
as-is.
