This may or may not be related, but the eggdrop package (which is, I think, distributed via cvs.eggheads.org) contains a file named 'aux'. This is an illegal filename on windows -- which has caused problems with cygwin-cvs and eggdrop in the past. --Chuck TaKeDa wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Corinna Vinschen" <vinschen AT cygnus DOT com> > To: "TaKeDa" <takeda AT oddam DOT piwo DOT za DOT net> > Cc: "cygwin" <cygwin AT sources DOT redhat DOT com> > Sent: Wednesday, October 18, 2000 12:26 > Subject: Re: Problems with connecting programs compiled in CygWin > > > TaKeDa wrote: > > > takeda AT TAKEDA ~/cvs > > > $ cvs update -A > > > cvs [update aborted]: connect to cvs.eggheads.org:2401 failed: The > > > descriptor is a file, not a socket > > > How fix that? > > > It looks like this start happen when I upgrade cygwin (but I'm not sure > that > > > there is problem) > > > but when I instal older version of cygwin bug still exists > > > Anyway TCL script can connect... > > > But compiled programs can't ie. eggdrop (can't even open socket) > > > cvs cant connect to server...
