OK. Here is the exact error message (which I should have included):

tulip $ gcc blather.c
/cygdrive/c/DOCUME~1/NEILZA~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/ccd3Ck45.o(.text+0x88):blather.c: un
defined reference to `GetStockObject AT 4'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
tulip $

BTW, Cygwin is installed on a FAT partition. The rest of Win2K is on NTFS.
Does this matter? (probablly not). What is GetStockObject?
