Greetings Cygwin devotees, It is known that Network Associates (formerly McAfee) anti-virus software can "hang" or otherwise behave poorly when dealing with Cygwin .tar.gz files. I get the same thing. I've excluded virus scan from looking at the directories in which I keep .tar.gz files. It keeps my stress level lower. :) I tried (in vain) to report this to NA, but they didn't seem to want the bug report. I looked for about 20 minutes for an email address on their web site, then finally chose one I knew was wrong. Then reply back was "don't report this here" but without a place to report it. Has anyone experienced this problem with other anti-virus software? (You needn't tell me that you use such-an-such and don't have a problem. Or to confirm that you've had problems with McAfee. Just report problems with other anti-virus scanners.) Thanks very much. Regards, David (Cygwin FAQ maintainer) -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
