Good afternoon,

While I am not a novice programmer and am not new to cygwin, I am not very
familiar with poking around an OS. I write code to do stuff with DNA. That
being said, are there any hints I could get before trying hard to install
the Perl/Tk module under Cygwin? Initial attempts failed with a bunch of
headers not being found, and before I roll up my sleeves, is there something
obvious I am missing?

perl Makefile.PL worked fine.
The failure message from "make" is pasted at the end of the email.

But I think it's more than a missing header file. I think 'Makefile' thinks
it's in a Windows environment, not X. As I said, I'm a bit out of my depth,
being more used to command-line Unix as a programming environment.

I have the latest Cygwin, cygipc, Charles Wilson's Perl port, and have
Cygwin's X package installed (and working).

I have checked the FAQs both here and on comp.lang.perl.tk.

cheers,
John
