X-Mailer: VM 6.75 under Emacs 20.6.1

Hi,

now this taught me another lesson in the oddities of WinNT. I
installed the new net release in a different directory and changed the
systemwide PATH so only the new cygwin stuff was visible. My B20.1
cygwin1.dll was certainly still on the system, but echo $PATH and
cygcheck in both the administrator and my user account convinced me
that it could not interfere. I renamed it anyway after your message
and voila, there was a different error message when I tried to load my
app as a service: cygwin1.dll not found in <path>, where <path> was
the *old* path before I changed it for the new cygwin version!

That is, after changing the systemwide PATH these changes affect all
user accounts, but not the system. When I started my app as
standalone, it used the new path and picked the correct 1.1.4
cygwin1.dll. When I tried to run it as a service, it used the old path
and found the B20.1 cygwin1.dll, which gave me an error. I just had to
reboot the box and all was fine again.

Thanks for your help
Markus
